Through the month of October, the photography exhibit "Earth, Sea & Sky" will be on display in the Central Library Meeting Room. This exhibit features the landscape photography of eleven Rhode Island School of Design students, who have been studying under the direction of instructor and professional photographer, Shane Gutierrez. 

Photographs feature familiar regional locations, including Beavertail State Park, Black Point, Trustom Pond and Old Furnace State Park.

Guitierrez's photography has been published in The Photo Review and Yankee Magazine. The students/photographers featured include Laura Nottie, Anthony LeDoux, Hali Sowle, Irma Tabellione, Karen Carr, Normand Garmache, Hillary Gillinder, Ervin L. “Tootsie” Russell, Shane Goulet-Leclerc and Kathy Irving.

Join us for the first installment of the 2014 fall concert series for  The Aristocats. This swing/jazz band almost 20 years and plays songs from the great American song book in a swing/jazz style.  The Aristocats are:  Nat Piccirilly (guitar and banjo), Bob Petteruti (upright bass), Joseph Holtzman (drums), and Lloyd Kaplan (clarinet, saxophone, and vocals).  This program is free and open to the public.  William Hall Library is handicapped accessible.

Cranston Public Library in conjunction with the Holocaust Education and Resource Center of Rhode Island will present a lecture by Helen Kagan entitled Berlin: 70 Years After the Holocaust. 

Helen Kagan, a participant and officer in the Harvard Lifelong Learning Seminars and a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, has traveled extensively and will speak about the topic from personal experience as well as extensive research.  Kagan attended the Boston Public Schools, graduated from URI and RIC and has taught in the Providence Public Schools and CCRI.

A motivated, generous band of volunteer sewists organized to sew for local and global charitable organizations. To date, we have made contributions to Little Dresses for Africa, Britches for Boys, RI Foster Kids and Children, the RI Women's Center Shelter and Hasbro Children's Hospital among others. We are currently looking for like-minded individuals in our community to join our cause. Beware, you may just have too much fun!

The Projects:  All projects are designed for nearly any level of sewing experience. If you have many years to just a beginning knowledge and skill. We work together on the same projects in order to help one another.

To Bring:  Sewing machine, sewing tools, a work light (if you have/need one), fabric and supplies appropriate for each project of the month, a willing spirit,looking for a fun time with like-minded sewists.

What is supplied:  Sewing area, Ironing station, Patterns for the monthly projects.

What you need to do to join in the projects: Sign up at the Wm. Hall Library desk by leaving your name, email and phone number. I will get in touch with you by email to provide information on the projects digitally.

When do we meet:  We meet once per month on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the Program Room of the Wm. Hall Library beginning in November.

An interactive half hour program for children ages one through two years of age and their adult caregiver. Rhymes and repetition are fundamental to a baby's speech and language devleopment. A motivated, generous band of volunteer sewists organized to sew for local and global charitable organizations. To date, we have made contributions to Little Dresses for Africa, Britches for Boys, RI Foster Kids and Children, the RI Women's Center Shelter and Hasbro Children's Hospital among others. We are currently looking for like-minded individuals in our community to join our cause. Beware, you may just have too much fun!

The Projects:  All projects are designed for nearly any level of sewing experience. If you have many years to just a beginning knowledge and skill. We work together on the same projects in order to help one another.

To Bring:  Sewing machine, sewing tools, a work light (if you have/need one), fabric and supplies appropriate for each project of the month, a willing spirit,looking for a fun time with like-minded sewists.

What is supplied:  Sewing area, Ironing station, Patterns for the monthly projects.

What you need to do to join in the projects: Sign up at the Wm. Hall Library desk by leaving your name, email and phone number. I will get in touch with you by email to provide information on the projects digitally.

When do we meet:  We meet once per month on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the Program Room of the Wm. Hall Library beginning in November.

A motivated, generous band of volunteer sewists organized to sew for local and global charitable organizations. To date, we have made contributions to Little Dresses for Africa, Britches for Boys, RI Foster Kids and Children, the RI Women's Center Shelter and Hasbro Children's Hospital among others. We are currently looking for like-minded individuals in our community to join our cause. Beware, you may just have too much fun!

The Projects:  All projects are designed for nearly any level of sewing experience. If you have many years to just a beginning knowledge and skill. We work together on the same projects in order to help one another.

To Bring:  Sewing machine, sewing tools, a work light (if you have/need one), fabric and supplies appropriate for each project of the month, a willing spirit,looking for a fun time with like-minded sewists.

What is supplied:  Sewing area, Ironing station, Patterns for the monthly projects.

What you need to do to join in the projects: Sign up at the Wm. Hall Library desk by leaving your name, email and phone number. I will get in touch with you by email to provide information on the projects digitally.

When do we meet:  We meet once per month on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the Program Room of the Wm. Hall Library beginning in November.

This program is open to the public and the William Hall Library is handicapped accessible.
