Most people think of magic as just pulling coins out from the ears or pulling rabbits out of hats, but Darren Yong returns to the Cranston Library this year to demonstrate modern magic that will amaze anyone who dares to watch closely. Registration is not required, but tickets will be handed out starting a half-hour before the performance. Recommended for ages 5 & up.

     Teens will be randomly split into two teams- superheros and supervillains.  The superhero team will work to save the villagers and their city, while the supervillains will work to destroy it.  As teams explore the city, both will find enhancements and special items to aide them in their quest.  The team to save/destory the most, wins!  This event is by registration only.  Registration can be found at the Children's Desk.

BIG NAZO LAB Staff Artists will demonstrate how scissors, staplers, hot glue, and colorful Sharpie markers can be used to create ORIGINAL, wearable "Plasti-Foam Super-Hero Helmet-Heads" inspired by characters from Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by American author Kate DiCamillo.

The amazing Hero-Helmets fabricated by workshop participants will be brought to life in a parade and "Hero Dance Party" at the library. Kids entering Grades 3 - 6 may register for this program. Space is limited.

This program is made possible by a grant from TD Charitable Foundation to the RI Center for the Book at RI Council for the Humanities in support of Kids Reading Across Rhode Island.
