In-person registration begins on Saturday, June 11th during our Summer Reading Kick-Off Outdoor Festival! in Veteran's Memorial Park.

Upon registration, you will receive a separate Pack-A-Book for Lunch Program flyer.

  • July 7, 2016         Ready… Set… Circus     Come one, come all to exercise your circus skills.
  • July 14, 2016       Ready… Set… Terrariums   Flex your gardening muscles by learning how terrariums are related to different habitats in our environment and create your own terrarium to take home.
  • July 21, 2016       Exercise Your Mind  Whalers at sea would unwind and stay busy with the historic art of scrimshaw.  See and touch actual artifacts and scrimshaw from the museum’s collection and design your own scrimshaw box to take home.
  • July 28, 2016       Salt N Sugar:  A Diet for Survival  Preserved and dried foods sustained whalers on long voyages across the world.  Experiment with different foods to find their lasting power and take a closer look at how mold forms.  Begin a batch of sugared fruit to take home.
  • August 4, 2016    Sports Trivia     Get your bats and balls ready as you team up in an exciting game of trivia to test your knowledge on all kinds of sports.
  • August 11, 2016   Ready… Set… Bingo      Come and play a lively game of bingo.  A snack will be served and certificates will be given out.

AARP Driver's Safety Program.  from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (approximately)

The AARP Driver’s Safety Program is a six-hour defensive driving course geared towards older licensed drivers (ages 50+)  and is held at the Levittown Public Library. 

Completing the course provides an update on driving skills, your knowledge of the rules, and hazards of the road.  You can check with your auto insurance company to see if they provide a multi-year discount to course graduates.

Register in person at the Reference Desk.  When registering, submit a check or money order for $20.00 (members) - $25.00 (non-members).

  • July 21, 2016       Exercise Your Mind  Whalers at sea would unwind and stay busy with the historic art of scrimshaw.  See and touch actual artifacts and scrimshaw from the museum’s collection and design your own scrimshaw box to take home.
  • July 28, 2016       Salt N Sugar:  A Diet for Survival  Preserved and dried foods sustained whalers on long voyages across the world.  Experiment with different foods to find their lasting power and take a closer look at how mold forms.  Begin a batch of sugared fruit to take home.
  • August 4, 2016    Sports Trivia     Get your bats and balls ready as you team up in an exciting game of trivia to test your knowledge on all kinds of sports.
  • August 11, 2016   Ready… Set… Bingo      Come and play a lively game of bingo.  A snack will be served and certificates will be given out.

Please join us for the second annual "Summer Reading Extravaganza-Discussion Days" this summer where students entering grades 6, 7, and 8 can participate in a VOLUNTARY book discussion concerning the novel Counting by 7's by Holly Goldberg-Sloan.  The book discussion days will be filled with lively book-chats, hands-on work stations, light refreshments and raffles, and a whole lot of fun!  To connect the theme of "community" in the novel, please bring a canned or non-perishable food items to the book discussion, which will be donated to Wisdom Lane's food pantry as a part of a community service learning project.  Projects from the hands-on work stations will be displayed at a "Summer Showcase" in the fall.  When registering, please choose one of the following work stations:

Hands-On Work Station 1 - Willow's Garden - Create a "garden" of thoughts by learning how to make paper origami plants and flowers!

Hands-On Work Station 2 - Scene It! - Create a 3D triarama of a scene that you enjoyed from the novel.  If you like to cut, glue, embellish and design in 3D, this is the workshop for you!

AARP Driver's Safety Program.  from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (approximately)

The AARP Driver’s Safety Program is a six-hour defensive driving course geared towards older licensed drivers (ages 50+)  and is held at the Levittown Public Library. 

Completing the course provides an update on driving skills, your knowledge of the rules, and hazards of the road.  You can check with your auto insurance company to see if they provide a multi-year discount to course graduates.

Register in person at the Reference Desk.  When registering, submit a check or money order for $20.00 (members) - $25.00 (non-members).

Sunnyside & The Blaze

$88.00 per person includes:  Sunnyside tour, dinner, The Blaze, transportation and all gratuities.

Limited in-person ticket sale for Levittown UFSD residents begins on Monday, July 18, at 6:00 p.m. in Meeting Rooms 1 + 2.  Limit 4 tickets per patron.  Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the Reference Desk for LUFSD residents.  Non-resident ticket sale will begin on July 25, at the Reference Desk.  A non-refundable payment is due at the time of registration.  Money order or check made payable to the Levittown Public Library is due at the time of registration.

We will depart from the library at 11:00 a.m. and head for Sunnyside where we will take a guided tour through the home of Washington Iriving, author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."  We will then have an early dinner.  After dinner we will depart for The Blaze which has more than 5,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated jack-o-lanterns and is set as an elaborate walk through experience on the historic 18th-century riverside landscape at Van Cortlandt Manor.  At 7:45 p.m., we depart to return to the library arrive back at approximately 9:15 p.m.  Enjoy the fall foliage along the way!

*Trip involves walking on gravel/dirt pathways with slight inclines.

A non-refundable $27.00 fee, check or money order, made payable to the Levittown Public Library, is due upon registraiton.  Each registered person must sign a physical release form prior to the first class.

Single person registration.  Limited, in-person registration for Levittown UFSD patrons begins Monday, August 1, at 9:00 a.m. & non-residents on Monday, August 8, at 9:00 a.m. at the Reference Desk.
