But once there, Alex is shanghaied to work on a ship that is heading for San Francisco via Cape Horn. Cleo stows away on a steamer to New Granada where she hopes to catch a train to San Francisco to find her brother.

Many of us are afraid today, but few know why, and even fewer know how to dilute and dissolve their fear. It is said that love can conquer fear, but that is not so easy when there is also fear and misunderstanding about love. Join us in this insight session to learn to embrace life without fear!

Presented by library staff member Leena Iyengar, a 9 year practitioner of Rajyoga meditation. Rajyoga meditation is taught by Brahmakumaris, a world spiritual organization. Leena delivers youth and adult programs on values and facilitates workshops on topics such as Harmony in Relationships, Stress Free Living, Many faces of Ego, Art of Forgiveness and many more.

She conducts classes at different Brahmakumaris locations including Piscataway New Jersey and at Peace Village Retreat Center in New York.

Hear from Jacqueline de Chollet, the founder of the nonprofit Veerni Project (featured on NPR), which empowers girls in rural Indian villages to get a high school education, gain independence, and avoid becoming child brides.

This program is intended for middle & high school students and adults wishing to learn more about the Veerni Project and its mission.

Hear from Jacqueline de Chollet, the founder of the nonprofit Veerni Project (featured on NPR), which empowers girls in rural Indian villages to get a high school education, gain independence, and avoid becoming child brides.
