The children’s activity room will be open to families. A variety of rotating fun and educational toys are housed in this room for independent play and learning. There are tables, a rug and a sink for washing up. Light snacking is permitted. Chatting and socializing in low voices is encouraged.

*Although partially separated, this room is not soundproof and ongoing noise can be heard in the library where other visitors and staff are present. We ask caregivers to stay aware and monitor their noise and activity levels; Children or babies who are upset or distraught should be taken out of the area if the noise becomes ongoing or disruptive to others in the library.

For ages 7 to 11 years.

Learn how to write computer code with Scratch, a graphic programming language that can be used to create interactive stories, games, and animations. You will also find out about more advanced projects you can do with Scratch and other online coding tutorials.

This two-hour class will be held in the computer lab.

Online registration is required. Registration opens on Wednesday, July 20 at 9:30am.

Join us for a workshop where we explore the nuances of public speaking through various age appropriate fun activities.

This is a free demonstration workshop presented by Desires by Design, in partnership with the Library.

Meet us at Platform 9 ¾ (the children’s activity room) and join us for the magical fun!

Take a quiz to get sorted into your house, attend a potions class, and make your own spell book.

Visit Olivander’s to choose and decorate your wand, then stop by the Magical Menagerie to select your owl.

Enjoy refreshments from Honeydukes and butterbeer from the Leaky Cauldron.

Wizards may come in costume (or disguise yourself as a muggle).

For our younger wizards (ages 6 and under), caregivers must remain in the party. All other parents must stay in the building (but are welcome to join in the fun!).
