The story of young, sensitive, and idealistic Francie Nolan and her bittersweet formative years in the slums of Williamsburg has enchanted and inspired millions of readers for more than sixty years. By turns overwhelming, sublime, heartbreaking, and uplifting, the daily experiences of the unforgettable Nolans are raw with honesty and tenderly threaded with family connectedness—in a work of literary art that brilliantly captures a unique time and place as well as incredibly rich moments of universal experience.

A poignant look at the disillusionment and angst of the post-World War I generation, the novel introduces two of Hemingway's most unforgettable characters: Lady Brett Ashley, and Jake Barnes. The story follows the flamboyant Brett and the hapless Jake as they journey from the wild nightlife of 1920s Paris to the brutal bullfighting rings of Spain with a motley group of expatriates. It is an age of moral bankruptcy, spiritual dissolution, unrealized love, and vanishing illusions.

Meet George Nyktas, author of The Wailing Wall: A Law Student's Journey into Deception, Corruption and Redemption. The legal thriller has a triple message: each of us has the power to make a difference in this cynical world; each of us has the ability to confront wrong; and each of us is empowered even when the odds are stacked against us. Through the protagonist, Nick Spanos, George shows us the raw nature of human emotions that each of us experiences in our lives and teaches us that no matter who we are, or what we have done, each, in our own way, can make a difference.

Hamilton, NJ, resident George Nyktas is a NJ departmental analyst, attorney, and award-winning executive producer of "Vote New Jersey" TV commercial.
