misc_none 12:00 PM Live Reptile Animal Diets Show 4-11 years   Download Event Info Tell a Friend

For ages 4-11 years, with a caregiver.

Eating is one of the primary supports of life. There is no choice, it must be accomplished. Eating to live involves eating something else that is living, so the whole operation is both dangerous and complicated. All animals, including ourselves, have evolved specific dietary needs, so each species must eat certain foods, but in the right combinations.

Obtaining these foods from their sources can be as simple as clipping a blade of grass or as difficult as pulling down a deer. This program looks at animal diets; how they are acquired, the difficulty in doing so, how animals find and catch their food and how they avoid becoming part of another’s diet.

Registration is required, beginning at 7am on the day of the show.

Preference at the door may be given to patrons who have registered with a valid MCLS library card. Those who have not registered may be admitted as space permits.

Rated: PG, 108 minutes.

Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprising habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it's a melting pot where animals from every environment live together. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn't so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde.

Features the voices of:  Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Nate Torrence, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Tommy Chong, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Alan Tudyk, Shakira, Raymond S. Persi.
