An Acting/Character Development Workshop is being offered this fall through the Medway Public Library and the Medway Players. The workshop will be held at Medway Public Library from 7-9 PM on Monday and Tuesday evenings beginning September 23, with one session Wednesday
November 13 and a final session Wednesday November 20.
The workshop will be led by Jim Porter, who has been acting in and directing local theater in Massachusetts for over 30 years. Mr. Porter holds a BA degree in Media/Theater Arts from Worcester State University, and was nominated for the prestigious Irene Ryan Scholarship while in college. The workshop will include physical and mental techniques that can aid both the novice and experienced actor in creating a believable character using techniques learned by Porter over his career, and will allow each participant to perform a monologue and scene as a practical test of their newly developed skills.
Participation is open to all who are interested, whether experienced or new to the stage. There is a $5 fee per person to cover materials;
ages from 10 years and up may participate. Sign up by Saturday September 21. For more information or to sign up you may email email@example.com
or call 508-740-5825 and leave a message with your name, a phone number, and your email address. You may also sign up at the Library.
