Did you recently get a Nook, Kindle, iPad, or some other portable mobile device?

Did you know that you can download and 'borrow' free library books for your device? Titles automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!

Learn how to download free eBooks and audiobooks with the library's OverDrive digital media service with local expert Laurie Lessner.

Laurie is an Easton resident and Assistant Director for Technology Services with SAILS, a consortium of 73 libraries in the region.

Please note that this class will focus on showing you how to download OverDrive eBooks or eAudio titles to a portable reading or listening device. It is NOT a class on using your device.

Calling all Planeswalkers! Drop by the Ames Free Library any Saturday afternoon between 2 and 5pm for free-play the card game Magic: The Gathering. Beginners can learn the basics and more experienced players are welcome to bring their own decks and compete for fun. Snacks will be provided. Grades 5-12. No sign-up required.

We are part of the offical Wizards Play Network, so if you have a DCI card, bring it!

    At Queset Garden behind library, 53 Main Street.

Bethany Deware, Stephanie Fletcher, Alisha Marble, and Jacqueline Prew, four of Easton's enterprising Junior Girl Scout Bronze award candidates, will host a “Family Fun Day” for the community, even as they raise awareness for the three local organizations they love, including the library.

The event will include a moonwalk, face painting, games, crafts, raffles and snacks. Join the fun and show your support!

Isn't it time to get in control of your future? Here is your opportunity to listen to a leading authority on retirement and Social Security questions.

Kurt Czarnowski of Czarnowski Consulting, a retirement planning company, will be here to tell you how you qualify for retirement benefits, how Social Security determines your benefits; what you can expect at full retirement age; Medicare coverage; and whether you can work and still receive retirement benefits.

Mr. Czarnowski is the former Regional Communications Director for the Social Security Administration where he worked for 34 years. You might also have heard him on radio station WRKO AM 680 in Boston.

Noted American architect Louis Kahn led an extraordinary career and left three families behind when he died of a heart attack in a bathroom in Penn Station.

With support from the Easton Cultural Council, the library will be offering a delightful craft event every month.

This time:Unwilling to throw away a beloved book? Preserve it as a permanent piece of art!

Learn to transform old books into brand new pieces of art with veteran educator and block print artist, Karen Hays.

Bring any favorite art supplies such as paints, pens, markers, stamps, or scrap booking supplies. Basic art supplies will be provided.
No experience required.

Registration begins Friday, May 11, 2012. Class size limited to first 15 registrants. Register here or call if you need help registering.
