New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), the city’s oldest fine arts institution, opened on December 16, 1911, with only 9 works of art. Today, the museum hosts an impressive permanent collection of almost 40,000 objects, including French and American art, photography, glass, and African and Japanese works. The twelve-acre Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA is one of the most important sculpture installations in the United States, with over 90 sculptures.

Each NOMA pass provides general admission during regular hours to two adults aged 20 and older. Adults and children aged 19 and under are admitted for free and do not require a pass. Admission to the museum is free for all Louisiana residents every Wednesday. NOMA’s Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden is free and open to the public seven days a week. Passes cannot be used for special exhibit admission. The pass is valid only for the reserved date of the visit. The pass may not cover additional costs from special exhibitions. Passes may be reserved by APL cardholders of any age whose account is in good standing and who is a resident of the parish.

Open: Museum Hours: Tuesday, Thursday - Sunday 10 am – 5 pm; Wednesday 12 – 7. 

Sculpture Garden Hours: Open every day except for closed days listed; April through September 10 am – 6 pm; October through March 10 am – 5 pm. 

Holiday Hours: The museum and sculpture garden are open 10 am – 3 pm on the following days: Easter, July 4th, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve.

New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), the city’s oldest fine arts institution, opened on December 16, 1911, with only 9 works of art. Today, the museum hosts an impressive permanent collection of almost 40,000 objects, including French and American art, photography, glass, and African and Japanese works. The twelve-acre Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA is one of the most important sculpture installations in the United States, with over 90 sculptures.

USS Kidd Adventure Passes not returned to the library within ten (10) days of the due date will be voided. A replacement charge of $15.00 will be applied to the account of the library cardholder for USS Kidd Adventure Passes not returned to the library.
