Avoid Scams While Traveling

Taking a trip can be stressful, but ultimately should be fun and memorable.  The last thing you would expect is to have issues involving fraud or a scam.  Join Kathleen Titsworth, from the Connecticut Department of Banking, who will discuss certain scams to avoid and share tips on keeping your personal and financial information safe when traveling.

Presenter Kathleen Titsworth is the Outreach Coordinator for the Connecticut Department of Banking.  She manages the agency’s educational outreach program by planning financial and investor education programs and organizing agency conferences and events.  She handles agency communications, produces annual agency reports and quarterly employee newsletters, responds to media requests and oversees the agency website.  Kathleen spends much of her time presenting to groups in the community or representing the Department at events to promote the agency’s mission of protecting consumers.

She is on the steering committee of the Coalition for Elder Justice in Connecticut, serves on the Board of the Connecticut Jump$tart Coalition, and represents the Department on the Connecticut Saves Campaign.  She serves as a member of the Senior Outreach Project Group of the North American Securities Administrators Association, which has produced several toolkits aimed at protecting seniors and vulnerable adults from financial exploitation.

This is a hybrid event; you can choose to attend in person or on Zoom.
